New England Black Wolves News Release
UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The New England Black Wolves announced today that assistant general manager Rich Lisk has been promoted to the position of general manger.
"Rich has been performing in the role of general manager, and he has been very instrumental in orchestrating trades and free agent signings and setting us up for the upcoming draft," Black Wolves co-owner Michael French said. "He is highly respected by his peers, and in fact, is a finalist for the 2016 National Lacrosse League GM of the Year Award."
In their second season in Connecticut, the Black Wolves enjoyed one of the biggest turnarounds in NLL history last year, finishing 10-8 under first-year coach Glenn Clark. New England went on to defeat the Georgia Swarm in the first round of the playoffs before falling to Buffalo in the East Division Finals. Inside Lacrosse recognized Lisk as its 2016 General Manager of the Year for his work.
"I am very excited for this opportunity to be officially named the general manager of the New England Black Wolves," Lisk said. "We have started building the foundation of the team three years ago, and I am looking forward to the future of this organization. I would like to thank the Mohegan Tribe, Kevin Brown, Mitchell Etess, and also Mike French, Brad Brewster and Ted Goldthorpe for having the faith in me to be the General Manager of the Black Wolves."
A graduate of Rutgers with a degree in economics and finance, Lisk has over 25 years of experience in the sports marketing industry. In addition to his work in the National Lacrosse League, Lisk was a General Manager of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul and President and General Manager of the East Coast Hockey League's Trenton Titans, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Black Wolves will open the 2017 season on January 7th at Rochester and will open their home schedule at Mohegan Sun Arena against the Buffalo Bandits on January 28th at 7 p.m. Until November 1st, the Black Wolves are offering a buy-one-get-one promotion on season tickets.
