New England Black Wolves News Release

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The New England Black Wolves have acquired Derek Searle, the 29th pick in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft and Rochester's second round pick in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft from the Rochester Knighthawks in exchange for Andrew Suitor. The trade is pending league approval.

Drafted in the second round, 14th overall, in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft, Searle saw action in four games as a rookie during the 2016 season. The 5-foot-11 defenseman scooped up 15 loose balls while causing four turnovers and recording seven penalty minutes.

The 2012 NLL Transition Player of the Year, Suitor has recorded 82 points (44 goals, 38 assists) in his NLL career while scooping up 477 loose balls and causing 94 turnovers. He led the league in penalty minutes in 2014 with 73 and in 2012 with 74. The fourth overall pick by the then Minnesota Swarm in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, Suitor was a member of the 2011 NLL All-Rookie Team as well as the 2012 NLL All-Pro First Team and the West All-Star Team in 2012. In 2016, he played just six games after returning from a torn left anterior cruciate ligament suffered on April 17, 2015. Suitor had two points and 21 loose balls while causing four turnovers in his six games before suffering another injury, this time to his right knee, in early April.
