On Monday, August 3, the West Virginia Black Bears hosted Military Appreciation Night at Monongalia County Ballpark sponsored by IT Mindshare.

The Black Bears wore special edition camouflage jerseys to be auctioned off during the game with all proceeds benefitting Operation Welcome Home. "We are extremely excited to honor the military with this special night and to support the mission of Operation Welcome Home", said Black Bears Assistant General Manager John Pogorzelski.

Jeremy Harris, founder of IT Mindshare, and a veteran, sponsored the evening's events that included presentation of honors to Vietnam veterans by General Dave Buckalew and the swearing in of over 30 recruits joining all four branches of the military. "As a veteran, I'm always looking for opportunities to help my fellow veterans", said Harris.

Operation Welcome Home honors and supports veterans through mentorship, peer counseling, linkages with other programs, and employment. Program Manager Brett Simpson said "On behalf of the veterans we serve, we are grateful that the Black Bears are in our community and that IT Mindshare chose to show support for our heroes."
