Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, PA - Tickets for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Black and Gold Game, scheduled to take place on September 17 at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza, have sold out, it was announced on Saturday.
"Demand for tickets to the Black and Gold Game has far exceeded our expectations," said Rich Hixon, president of the team. "We are looking forward to a fantastic night of celebrating the accomplishments of the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins."
Any available seats were set to go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, September 8. However, due to the phenomenal demand by season ticket holders and package purchasers, no tickets are currently available.
A handful of tickets for the game have been held back to accommodate any new packages sold during the next week. To purchase a Penguins ticket package for the upcoming season, and to gain exclusive access to the Black and Gold Game, contact a Penguins account executive at 208-7367.
All current Penguins season ticket holders automatically received a free ticket to the contest, while anyone purchasing a new 5-game, 12-game, 22-game, flex book or full season ticket package for the 2009-10 season during the summer was also provided with access to the game.
"The phones in our ticketing department have been ringing off the hooks for the past month," said Hixon. "The response from our fans has been nothing short of amazing, and we can't wait to drop the puck."
