TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the fourth game of a five-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Yanks have won the first three games of the series. Starting Saturday, the Bisons host the Red Wings for their final home series of the season. Buffalo and Rochester will play five games in four days.
vs. YANKEES: The Bisons are 5-9 against the Yankees this season. Last night's Scranton/Wilkes-Barre win clinched the season series victory over the Herd. It's the Yankees' fifth season victory over the Bisons in the last seven years. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has five straight victories over the Bisons, all of which have occurred at Coca-Cola Field.
RODRIGEUZ: RHP ARMANDO RODRIGUEZ makes his Bisons and Triple-A debut tonight. The 24-year old has been promoted from Double-A Binghamton where he was 2-2 with a 3.04ERA in 31 appearances. The Eastern League All-Star made three spot starts for the B-Mets this year and was 0-1 with a 4.91ERA. Overall, Rodriguez has allowed just 53 hits in 68.0 innings.
STEALS: OF FRED LEWIS stole his 24th base last night. The total is the most by a Bisons player since INF Brent Abernathy stole 27 during the 2004 campaign. Lewis has only been caught seven times, giving him a 77% success rate. The Bisons 81 steals as a team is their highest total since they stole 112 bases during the 2007 season.
SATIN: INF JOSH SATIN had a pair of hits to raise his team-best batting average to .291. In 55 games since June 21, Satin is hitting .323 (60-186) with 13 doubles, nine home runs, 36RBI and a .447 on-base percentage. Satin's .396 on-base mark for the season in second in the International League.
BISONS BITS: RHP ARMANDO RODRIGUEZ becomes the 16th different pitcher to start a game for the Bisons this season...OF MATT DEN DEKKER has nine RBI in his last nine games. Despite not joining the team until June 12, he ranks 3rd on Bisons with 44RBI...OF FRED LEWIS is 5th in the International League with 70 runs scored. The last Bisons batter to score 70 runs in a season was Ben Francisco, who scored 80 times in 2006.
METS UPDATE : The Mets (57-67) lost 5-2 to Colorado last night. Former Bisons RHP MATT HARVEY struck out nine in six innings in a no decision. He was also 2-2 at the plate and is now hitting .455. RHP COLLIN McHUGH makes his major league debut for the Mets this afternoon as New York hosts the Rockies at 1:10 p.m.
