TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons square off with the Louisville Bats in the first game of a four-game series from Louisville Slugger Field (7:05 p.m.). Tonight's contest marks the beginning of an eight-game roadtrip for the Herd, with four in Louisville and four in Indianapolis. The Bisons were swept by the Charlotte Knights after a 9-6 loss at Coca-Cola Field last night.

vs. BATS: The Bisons are 3-1 against the Bats this season. Buffalo took three out of four games when they hosted Louisville at Coca-Cola Field, June 26-29. In 2011, the Herd went 4-4 against the Bats after splitting each four-game series both at home and on the road.

SCHWING & MISS : RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN takes the mound tonight for his 12th start of the season. In six starts on the road, the righty has a 1-2 record with a 1.99ERA and 36K in 31.2 innings of work. Since his return to the Bisons rotation on July 14, Schwinden has 3.00ERA and 10K in 9.0 innings.

BAXTER: OF MIKE BAXTER went 2-5 with an RBI in the first game of his MLB rehab assignment with the Herd. Baxter suffered a displaced right collarbone crashing into the wall on June 1 to make a catch and preserve Johan Santana's no-hitter. Baxter played 18G for the Bisons in 2011 and hit a HR on the very first pitch he saw with Buffalo, July 26 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

ACOSTA: Prior to tonight's game, the New York Mets will select the contract of RHP MANNY ACOSTA. The righty tossed two perfect innings of relief last night for the Herd. In 17 appearances with the Bisons this season, Acosta went 0-1 with a 2.25ERA and 25 strikeouts in 28.0 innings. In 19 games with the Mets earlier this year, Acosta was 1-2 with an 11.86ERA in 22.0 innings.

BISONS BITS: OF MATT den DEKKER tripled and drove in a pair last night. Of his 34 hits this season, 18 have gone for extra bases (seven doubles, four triples, seven home runs)...INF JOSH SATIN is third in the International League in on-base percentage (.403) and fifth in base on balls (58)...RHP PEDRO BEATO and OF LUCAS DUDA have been optioned to the Bisons. Duda was the Bisons 2010 Most Valuable Player.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (47-49) lost to the Nationals in ten innings last night by a score of 8-2. This is the second consecutive game that New York has lost in extra innings. INF DAVID WRIGHT and former Bisons INF IKE DAVIS both hit solo homers for the Mets. New York continues their series with Washington tonight (7:10 p.m.).
