RICHMOND, VA - The Buffalo Bisons drilled the Richmond Braves 10-1 Friday at The Diamond. The Bisons pounded 17 hits to earn their first win of the season and even the series.

For the second straight night the Bisons scored a pair of first inning runs. Franklin Gutierrez led the game off with a homer and Jason Dubois knocked in a run with a sac fly. The Braves cut it to 2-1 on a Michael Ryan RBI single in the fifth. The Bisons blew the game open with a three run sixth. Dubois knocked in a run with another sac fly. Jake Gautreau singled a run home, and Gutierrez chased home a run with a single to give the Bisons a 5-1 lead. Buffalo made it a laugher with a five run eighth highlighted by a Jason Cooper two run double. He now has five RBI in two games.

Jeremy Sowers pitched six innings without allowing an earned run to collect the win. Wes Obermueller took the loss. Gutierrez, Cooper, and Joe Inglett each had three hits for the Bisons. Scott Thorman and Wes Timmons had two hits each for the Braves.

The Braves and Bisons battle again Saturday at The Diamond at 7 PM. Travis Smith will pitch for the Braves against the Bisons Jeremy Guthrie.
