MOBILE, AL - It took just two home runs and one, right-handed pitcher, Jake Faria for the Montgomery Biscuits (38-23, 72-57) to burn the Mobile BayBears (31-27, 65-62) with a 3-1 final at Hank Aaron Stadium on Friday night.
Mobile was only able to muster one run in the game. Sean Jamieson launched out his second homer in his last three games but the home run remained the only run for the BayBears.
Faria tossed a season-high eight innings, for the Biscuits. The righty allowed just the one run on three hits and one walk while racking up 13 strikeouts.
Trailing 1-0 in the third inning, Montgomery moved ahead on a Tyler Goeddel two-run home and three batters later, Dayron Varona, three batters later, Varona sent a ball over the wall to for the 3-1 Biscuits lead and final.
