Birmingham Squadron News Release
BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Squadron (2-5), NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, are set for a rematch against the Mexico City Capitanes (3-6) on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Joining the Squadron tonight are two assignments from the NBA, center Jaxson Hayes and forward Trey Murphy III, who were assigned to the Squadron by the Pelicans yesterday. Two-way guard Jose Alvarado will join the Squadron tonight as well after being transferred from New Orleans.
Coverage will be brought to you by Eli Gold and Rick Moody. The Squadron broadcast will air live locally on My68 and V94.9 FM, and fans can watch the live stream on ESPN+ or online on the team's website at https://birmingham.gleague.nba.com/live/. My68 is carried by most major streaming services like YouTube TV and Sling, as well as most major cable providers such as Dish, Direct TV, Spectrum and Comcast.
Leading the way for the Squadron on the offensive side of the ball this season is guard Jared Harper, who is averaging 22.6 points and 5.9 assists. The Mableton, Georgia native has registered two 35-point games this season and is one of only seven players in the NBA G League averaging 20+ points and 5+ assists this season.
For Mexico City, forward Alfonzo McKinnie is averaging 24.2 points and 9.3 rebounds so far this season, including a team-leading 30 points and 11 rebounds on Sunday night against the Squadron.
