Birds Comeback Falls Short on Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield Cardinals dropped their fourth straight game at the hands of the Arkansas Travelers 15-8 on Sunday afternoon. Springfield erased a seven-run deficit before surrendering the lead in the top of the ninth.

Decisions:

W: Travis Kuhn (1-1)

L: Ian Bedell (1-1)

Notables:

Springfield lost four of six to Arkansas. It's their first series loss of the year.

Since starting the season 9-0, the Cardinals are 5-7 in their last twelve games.

The Cardinals trailed 8-1 in the fourth. They scored seven unanswered to ultimately tie the game in the eighth.

Matt Lloyd hit a grand slam in the fourth inning, the first grand slam for the Cardinals this year.

Jacob Buchberger followed Lloyd's slam with a solo shot. It was the second time Springfield hit back-to-back homers.
