Oklahoma City Comets News Release

The Memphis Redbirds received a solid pitching performance from Mike Parisi as they shut out the RedHawks 1-0 Tuesday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks have now lost seven straight games at The Brick.

Memphis (50-74) scored the only run of the game in the first inning. In his first at bat as a Redbird, Brian Barden drove in Skip Schumaker with a ground ball to third. Barden finished the game 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Oklahoma (59-62) failed to score any runs for starter Edinson Volquez (5-1). Volquez pitched seven strong innings, striking out a RedHawk season-high 10 hitters. The RedHawks haven't home since July 29th.

Parisi (7-10) earned the win, throwing seven shutout innings. Christopher Perez pitched the ninth for his fourth save of the season for the Redbirds.

The same two teams play Wednesday night at 7:05 pm CDT at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
