
Bighorns Rally to Take Down D-Fenders

RENO, NEV., Jan. 03, 2015- After trailing the Los Angeles D-Fenders by 15 points, the Bighorns rallied back and defeated the D-Fenders with a final score of 174-169 at the Toyota Sports Center in Los Angeles.
The Bighorns were short one point from beating the NBA Development League All-Time scoring record (175), which was set by the D-Fenders the last time the two teams met.
The Bighorns were led by guard Brady Heslip who totaled 35 points, and two assists. Heslip went 10-18 from behind the arc.
David Wear followed Heslip closely, adding 33 points, three rebounds, and two assists. David Stockton finished with 15 points, and a phenomenal 11 assists.
Jordan Clarkson led the D-Fenders with 35 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds. Roscoe Smith finished 32 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists for the D-Fenders.
During the first quarter of play, Heslip came onto the court on fire, netting 15 points, and going 5-5 from the three-point line. Jordan Hamilton added eight points and three rebounds, while Stockton added four assists in the quarter.
In the second quarter, the Bighorns Center Quincy Miller totaled nine points, and two rebounds in the quarter, while Stockton netted six points and added three assists.
The Bighorns finished the half shooting 46.4% from the three-point line compared to the D-Fender's 12.5%.
Going into the locker room at the half the Bighorns trailing the D-Fenders 98-87.
Heslip led the Bighorns in the third quarter, totaling 12 points, while James added nine points, and Hamilton notched six rebounds.
In the Final quarter, David Wear totaled 15 points, and two rebounds. Tajuan Porter netted nine points, and added two assists.
The Bighorns went 52.2% from the three-point line compared to the D-Fenders 21.1%.
The Bighorns will return home this Tuesday, January 6 to take-on the Austin Spurs at 7 p.m. Individuals 18 and under wearing any sports jersey will receive free admission to the night's game.
