Bighorns defeat the Jam, at Last

The Reno Bighorns came back with a vengeance against the Bakersfield Jam after taking a loss on their court last night. Tonight, they maintained the lead in every quarter to give them their first win against the Jam all season.

The Jam's Nick Lewis opened up the start of the game with 2, but quickly followed was Patrick Ewing Jr. with 3. The Bighorns held them back for the remainder of the quarter with a 4 point lead, 26-22.

Bakersfield held strong numbers from the free throw line with 90% accuracy and Trey Johnson was their high scorer with 12 points. The Bighorns' Ewing was the top scorer of the half with 13 points and Russell Robinson led both teams with 4 assists. They closed the half ahead by 8, Bighorns 57-49.

Midway into the third quarter Richie Frahm started the rally for two then quickly scored 3 with some help from David Noel. Bighorns led 80% from the free throw line where Justin Reed was the Jam's lead scorer with 10.

The Jam held on strong in the 4th by having 11 rebounds Terrance Thomas with highest scoring points of 14, yet the Bighorns overpowered with 12 rebounds and 4 players scoring in double digits. The final few minutes came down to the Bighorns racking the score up over 100 and the Jam closely following, but not close enough for another win this week against the Bighorns. Final score, Bighorns 116-Jam 110.
