(Charlotte, NC) The Charlotte Eagles and Lady Eagles will be hosting another doubleheader this Saturday, June 19th at beautiful Waddell Stadium. The Lady Eagles will be hosting the Northern Virginia Majestics at 5:30 pm followed by the Eagles Southern Division matchup against the 2003 Pro Soccer League Champions, the Wilmington Hammerheads, at 8:00 pm. Saturday night is also Bojangles' Night, including live music and post-game concert by "Jailbird Paul."
Charlotte Lady Eagles vs. Northern Virginia Majestics: The Charlotte Lady Eagles currently hold the second spot in the W-League Central Conference Atlantic Division at 3-1-1 for 10 pts. On Saturday night the Lady Eagles host the Northern Virginia Majestics in the second and last time for the two teams to meet in the regular season. Northern Virginia is 6-1-4 for 4 points and in the seventh spot of the Atlantic Division. Charlotte won a tough battle last weekend, squeeking out a 1-0 win over Asheville, and hope to extend their win streak to two with a win this Saturday. The Lady Eagles next match after Saturday night is on Thursday, June 24th at 7:30 pm, when the Lady Eagles host the Asheville Splash in their last matchup together in the regular season.
Charlotte Eagles vs. Wilmington Hammerheads: Saturday night's matchup between the 2003 Pro Soccer League Champion Wilmington Hammerheads and the Charlotte Eagles is sure to be an exciting match between two long standing rivals since their days playing together in the D3 Pro League. The two teams compete together in the PSL Southern Division. Charlotte currently holds the top spot in the division with 5 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie for 16 points. Wilmington trails by just three points with 4 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie for 13 points. The Eagles' only regular season loss of the year (3-2) is to Wilmington, back on April 24th at Legion Field in Wilmington, NC. Two Charlotte Eagles' players played previous seasons with the Hammerheads. Midfielder Jason Hotchkin of Greenville, SC played with the Hammerheads during their 2000 season. Charlotte native Jacob Coggins played with Wilmington back in 1998. Coggins is currently ranked number one in points and goals scored, and number two in assists in the Pro Soccer League, with 7 goals, and 4 assists for 18 points in seven games. Coggins also had two goals in the Eagles Open Cup match against the Carolina Dynamo last Tuesday night, but the match does not count toward Pro Soccer League standings and statistics.
The Charlotte Eagles begin a two game road trip following Saturday night's home game. Charlotte faces the Western Mass Pioneers on June 26th and the New Hampshire Phantoms on July 2nd, before returning to Charlotte for back to back home games on July 9th and 10th at Waddell Stadium.

Kevin O'Brien and Dustin Swinehart Earn Team of the Week Honors
(Tampa, FL) The United Soccer Leagues announced the honors for week nine of the 2004 season. Veteran Eagles Kevin O'Brien and Dustin Swinehart were honored with Week 9 Team of the Week selection for their performance in the June 12th 3-0 victory over Raleigh CASL Elite.
Kevin O'Brien is a veteran defender and captain in his fifth season with the Charlotte Eagles. In addition to his field play, O'Brien also serves as an assistant coach for the Eagles. O'Brien earned the Team of the Week honors for his assist and solid play in the June 12th match. Kevin's assist came off the restart from about 45 yards out from Raleigh's goal. His nicely placed kick found Josh Rife, who got up over the defense for the header and the goal. This is the first week for O'Brien to earn Team of the Week honors this season.
Dustin Swinehart, is a veteran forward for the Eagles in his seventh season. Swinehart had a goal and an assist in the 3-0 victory over Raleigh. In the 48th minute Swinehart found a loose ball inside the Raleigh six yard box and shuffled a shot under the keeper for his third goal of the season. In the 79th minute Swinehart got an assists on Patrick Daka's goal to seal the 3-0 victory. Dustin was also selected to PSL Team of the Week back in week four of the 2004 season. Swinehart has 3 goals and 1 assist for 7 points in his six games played.
