Penn FC News Release
The Harrisburg City Islanders face a challenging weekend: on Friday, June 18, the Long Island Roughriders visit Skyline Sports Complex for the first time, and on Saturday, June 19, the Islanders hit the road to face the Reading Rage. Friday's game kicks off at 7:35 p.m., and Saturday's match starts at 7:30 p.m.
Long Island currently occupies last place in the Pro Soccer League's Atlantic Division with a 1-5-1 mark (four points). Their rough start in 2004 follows a 13-4-3 record and regular season division title in 2003. Following Friday, the clubs will meet once more this season, on Saturday, July 17, in Long Island.
The Islanders defeated Reading 5-1 on Sunday, May 30, at Skyline in a game that marked Harrisburg's largest margin of victory to date. Five different Islanders scored in the game, and Dave Kern made seven saves in goal. Saturday's match will take place at Shirk Stadium on the campus of Albright College in Reading.
This weekend marks the second set of back-to-back games for Harrisburg this season. In the first set, the team went 0-1-1, falling 1-0 in Charlotte on April 30 and earning a 1-1 draw in Wilmington on May 1.
