Summerside Storm News Release

(Summerside PE) The Storm played a big game against Saint John tonight, in front of 3296 fans at EastLink Arena; it was a big party as well.

It was a hard fought battle that came down to defense and turnovers. The Saint John Mill Rats shot 38% from the floor with Summerside at 33%. High scorers were Troy Jackson of The Storm with 22, and Anthony Anderson with 24 for The Mill Rats. Final score was 103-89.

The party didn't stop all night, starting with pre-game activities with The City of Summerside, followed by and ending in a group sing along of Auld Lang Sine at centre court led by the Storm owners and families, Mayor Basil Stewart, the Police Chief and council members. The balloon drop pleasantly surprised the crowd during the song.

Also surprised was Janice McInnis who was proposed to on the court by Dave Lewis. The giveaways of t-shirts, pizza and gift certificates were plenty as well, with the 50/50 take being $3116! Won by Danny Brawn of Summerside.

The Storm play next Thursday January 5th in Moncton to take on the Miracles.
