Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

The Jacksonville Barracudas are pleased to announce that goaltender Pat Berrigan, who was among the top goaltenders in the SPHL at the beginning of the season, has reported back to the hockey club. He will start in goal for the Barracudas Saturday night as they face off against the Florida Seals.

Berrigan had been loaned to the Charlotte Checkers of the East Coast Hockey League, and was subsequently traded from the Checkers to the Columbia Inferno after a number of strong starts. As a result of his reporting back to the Barracudas, his team suspension has been lifted.

To make room for Berrigan, the Barracudas have been forced to put goaltender Frank Novello on waivers. Novello appeared in 10 games for the Barracudas, winning 1 game and losing 8. His goals against average was 5.12, and he had a save percentage of .878.

The Barracudas have also signed forward Ryan Scapinello. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound forward will be inserted into the lineup to replace forward Taras Foremsky, who was injured in last night's game against the Fayetteville FireAntz. Due to his injury and roster limitations, Foremsky has been put on waivers.

The Barracudas are also reminding all of their fans to bring teddy bears to the Saturday, December 17th game against the Florida Seals, for the Teddy Bear Toss in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nemours Children's Clinic, and the Ronald McDonald House. The Barracudas play at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, and tickets are available at the arena box office, the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts box office, and Ticketmaster.com. Season tickets, group packages, and 10-game ticket packs are available through the Barracudas office at 904-367-1423.
