Barracudas sign Ryan Webb

December 17, 2005 - SPHL (SPHL)
Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

The Jacksonville Barracudas announce that they have signed 23-year-old forward Ryan Webb to a contract.

The Pontiac, Michigan native began the season with the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League where he picked up three points in 23 games. It is the 6-foot, 190-pounder's first professional season, after completing a two-season NCAA career with Utica College. At Utica he scored 58 points in just 51 games.

There was an extra roster spot available for Webb, as the SPHL has instituted a new 30-day Injury Reserve. The Barracudas have placed defenseman Tomas Fotjik on the 30-day IR after he injured his shoulder in Jacksonville. The injury was not as severe as initially feared, and he is expected back in a few weeks.

As well, forward DJ McDonald has been activated onto the roster, as forward CJ McConnell has been placed on waivers.

The Barracudas are also reminding all of their fans to bring teddy bears to the Saturday, December 17th game against the Florida Seals, in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nemours Children's Clinic, and the Ronald McDonald House.

The Barracudas play at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, and tickets are available at the arena box office, the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts box office, and Ticketmaster.com. Season tickets, group packages, and 10-game ticket packs are available through the Barracudas office at 904-367-1423.
