March 21, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa-Bernie the St. Bernard and some of his closest friends are throwing a party this Sunday and you're invited! Bernie and the Fighting Saints host Mascot Mania, presented by Queen B Radio, Sunday at 3:05 p.m. as the Saints battle Team USA U-17. With only four home games left in the regular season, Bernie has gathered around 15 of his mascot friends to join him at the arena to help entertain the crowd for Sunday's game and try their hand on the ice. Sunday is a TH Family Four Pack Game, and after the contest, fans can take the ice with the team for a Post-Game Skate with the Saints.
Mascots appearing at Sunday's game include Earny the Eagle from American Trust, Ben Groovin' from Queen B Radio, Sippi from the River Museum, Poblano Pete from Carlos O'Kelly's, Pioneer Pete from UW-Platteville, Sporty from SportsClips and Captain Shield from US Bank.
Bernie and his mascot friends will entertain fans and participate in the festivities during breaks in the action. They will pull out their dance moves, partake in the Fisher Lanes Slingshot Bowling contest, and battle in a trivia competitions versus fans (mascots will have to answer with their hands).
The highlight of the afternoon will be the mascot hockey game during the first intermission. With his ability to skate and great hockey skills, Bernie is expected to be the star, but all of his friends will be on the ice testing their hockey skills in a game that may get a little feisty. The game hope to provide laughs, as not every day you see an ice cream cone and an armadillo digging for a loose puck in the corner, or a mattress flying down the rink on a breakaway.
With mascots invading the arena, Sunday's game will be a favorite for children, and families can score a special package deal with the TH Family Four Pack. Starting at just $48, fans can purchase a package that includes four tickets, four drink vouchers, four slices of Domino's Pizza, and two Kids Zone vouchers.
Following the contest with Team USA, fans can take the ice to Skate with the Saints. The entire team will be on the ice, and fans can get autographs and speak with members of the Fighting Saints. There is no cost to Skate with the Saints, and the Mystique Community Ice Center is offering skate rental for $2.50.
Sunday's game is jam-packed with family fun, and fans are encouraged to purchase all tickets, including TH Family Four Packs, in advance to guarantee the best seat location. Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $1.95. Fans may order seats to Sunday's game by calling 563.583.6880 or online at DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
