Berkstresser Back For First Full Season

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have signed forward Sean Berkstresser, it was announced today by team President Jim Brooks. As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.

"We are excited to have Sean back after finishing the year with us last year "Said Greg Puhalski. " He plays with an edge and has the size and determination to wreak havoc on our opponents."

Berkstresser, 25, made his professional debut at the tail end of the 2006-07 season with the Nailers appearing in eight games between March 22 and April 5. He recorded a goal and an assist to accompany 11 penalty minutes. At 6-foot-1-inch, 200 pounds, he provides a physical presence for the Nailers offense.

The native of Apollo, PA, Berkstresser completed his three-year collegiate career at Robert Morris University before joining up with Wheeling. In his final season he notched 25 points (9g, 16a) in 33 games with the Colonials. Overall, Berkstresser managed 69 points (29g, 40a) in 102 games at RMU.
