Jake Peevyhouse's two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Bend Elks to a 6-3 victory over visiting Yakima Valley in a West Coast League game at Vince Genna Stadium on Friday evening.

Peevyhouse's triple broke a 2-2 tie, scoring Josh Cushing and Nick Lopez, who had drawn walks sandwiched around Zach Close's sacrifice. Peevyhouse scored on Trevor Allen's sacrifice fly.

Allen's solo home in the sixth inning tied the game at 2-2. Billy King had two hits for the Elks while Peevyhouse and Allen each had two RBIs.

Jesse Pratt retired nine of the ten batters faced in three innings of work to earn the victory in relief. Starter Patrick McGuff scattered five hits over five innings of work and Louis Cohen allowed one run in the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season.

The Elks are now 19-13 on the season while Yakima Valley drops to 18-11.

The two teams square off in the final game of the three-game series at Vince Genna Stadium on Saturday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm on Ice Cream Social night--all fans receive two scoops of Eberhard's Ice Cream free. In addition, former West Coast League Most Valuable Player, Tommy Richards, will be in attendance.
