Bellingham Slam announce open tryouts for 2006-07 season
July 26, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Bellingham Slam News Release
Bellingham, WA - The Bellingham Slam have announced they will be holding an open tryout to evaluate prospective players for the 2006-07 basketball season. The tryout camp will take place on Saturday, August 26 at the Furtado Center in Seattle, the practice facility for the Supersonics.
Last year, the Slam's inaugural tryout camp drew dozens of skilled participants, with several players previously unknown to the Slam coaching staff ultimately earning roster spots on the team. The Slam went on to post a 20-15 record in their first season in the American Basketball Association, reaching the quarterfinals of the ABA championship tournament.
The cost to participate in the tryout is $75 and registration is required to reserve a spot. Those interested in participating may download registration forms on the Slam's website at www.bellinghamslam.com, or may call 360-734-SLAM to get more information.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
