January 21, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
RiverCity Rage News Release
Indoor football veteran defensive lineman Brandon Stoker who had played in the AF2 league with the Peoria Pirates and Mohegan Wolves along with defensive back Eric Puryear who played with the Roanoke Steam and Salem Energy of AF2 join Koray Gilbert formerly with the La Crosse Nighttrain to headline a list of players signed to the 2004 training camp roster. These veterans with indoor experience will help shore up areas of concern for first year head football coach Mike Wyatt.
Also inking with the Believers was Brandon Gregory, who starred at the University of New Mexico and helped lead a secondary that culminated in a Las Vegas Bowl appearance.
Small college stars Andy Peterson of Maranatha Bible Baptist College who was the UMAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2002 and Adam LeGette of Jamestown College, a NAIA All American in 2001 also joined the ranks of the 2004 Believers.
"There are a number of players that we feel will help our team improve in 2004. We still need to shore up a couple of positions, but feel we have raised the bar on the talent pool that we will have to draw from." stated Believers Head Football Coach, Mike Wyatt.
"We believe that we have a good blend of veterans and newcomers to the indoor game." added Wyatt.
