
Belen, Ramires Lead Tri-City to 9-2 Win

The Tri-City Dust Devils closed out the 2015 regular season by trouncing the Spokane Indians 9-2 Sunday night at Gesa Stadium. Ten different Dust Devils hit safely on the way to the victory. Tri-City finishes with season-high sixth straight win.
Third baseman Carlos Belen was the Catalyst for the Dust Devils (20-18 Second Half, 42-34 Overall) offense. Belen went 2-for-3 with a double and triple, adding three RBIs. Right fielder Mason Smith drove in two runs for Tri-City in a 1-for-4 performance. First baseman Ty France and left fielder Jose Carlos Urena each scored twice in the win.
Dust Devils starter Emmanuel Ramirez (2-1) allowed a triple to Spokane (15-23 Second Half, 34-42 Overall) center fielder LeDarious Clark, but he was stellar after that on Sunday night. Ramirez's 10 strikeouts were the most by a Tri-City starter this season. The right-hander allowed just one run on three hits over five innings on the way to his second win of the season.
Cody Palmquist (2-5) got roughed up in his start for the Indians. Palmquist gave up six runs on six hits over four innings. He walked three and struck out four on the way to his fifth loss this season.
The Dust Devils will head on the road to open up the Northwest League North Division Championship Series on Monday night. They will return to Gesa Stadium for the second game of the series on Tuesday night at 7:15 p.m..
