Bridgewater, NJ - The New Britain Bees (28-27) defeated the Somerset Patriots (30-23) 1-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.
The Bees broke the scoreless tie in the top of the eighth inning with the only run of the game, coming off a solo home run by Deibinson Romero (8).
Josh Outman (2-1) picked up the win with 2.1 scoreless innings pitched and two strikeouts. Logan Kensing (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing a run on two hits in 0.2 innings pitched. Evan Scribner earned his eighth save of the season with a perfect ninth inning pitched.
Duane Below scattered four hits and struck out four batters in 6.2 scoreless innings for Somerset in a no decision, while Kyle Roller was 2-for-4 at the plate.
The 2018 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Wednesday, June 27th with a 7:05 pm game against the New Britain Bees. The game features Beach Balls (1st 1,500 Fans) and Health Fair night presented by RWJBarnabas Health. Fans can also enjoy Fox Hollow Baseball Bingo to win prizes and it's a Senior Wednesday.
