New Britain Bees News Release
(New Britain, Conn., March 30, 2017)- New Britain Bees team officials today announced that the team has re-signed infielder Steve Carrillo. In addition, the Bees have signed free agent catcher Ivan Villaescusa for the 2017 season.
Carrillo re-joins the Bees after two separate stints in the Hardware City in 2016, during which he batted .246 with three home runs and 25 runs batted in over 79 games. The 29-year old had his contract purchased by Vaqueros Laguna in Mexico following the Atlantic League All-Star break last season. In six professional seasons, Carrillo has appeared in 395 games and has driven in 144 runs, while primarily playing shortstop.
