New Britain, CT - The Worcester Bravehearts fell to the New Britain Bees 5-3 on Thursday. With the loss, Worcester once again falls below .500 to 28-29 while New Britain, who was 1-9 in their last 10 games coming into Thursday's matchup, moves to 23-33
The Bravehearts struck first in the second inning after Sebastian Salado (Palm Beach Atlantic) reached third via a single, stolen base and an advancement on an error. Nick Martin (Westfield State) was able to drive him in for the first run of the game. The Bees answered in the bottom of the inning with two runs, taking the lead. A Michael Bradbury (Eastern Connecticut) double brought home Harrison Feinburg (USC) and a groundout off the bat of Zach Donahue (Uconn) brought in Jach Scher (Wesleyan).
New Britain would not relinquish the lead as they ended up scoring another two in the fifth and one in the sixth going up 5-1.
Starting pitcher for the Bravehearts and Saint Paul Alumn Luke Delongchamp (Boston College) went 4 innings giving up two runs (one earned) and striking out five before giving the ball to Will Jones (Northeastern).
The Bravehearts rally attempt in the ninth fell short, as they scored two runs but left runners at the corners.
The team travels to Westfield tomorrow to take on the Starfires before returning home on Saturday against the Pittsfield Suns.
