Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
HIDALGO, Texas -- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees announced today that returning forward Matic Krajl has been invited to training camp with the Omaha Knights, and newly signed defenseman Kurtis Dulle has been invited to camp with the San Antonio Rampage. Omaha is the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames, while San Antonio is affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes. Krajl finished third in team scoring and tied for fourth in power play goals (4) for the Bees in 2004-05. The 22-year-old enters his fourth season as a pro and his third in Rio Grande Valley, provided he does not make the Knights roster. Dulle turned pro last season with the Victoria Salmon Kings (ECHL) after playing five seasons at the University of Regina. The 25-year-old tallied eight points (2-6-8) in 17 games with Victoria last season. In 2003, Krajl attended a prospects camp with the Minnesota Wild, which led to a stint in the Wild's preseason camp. He was subsequently released, and ended up with the Bees via trade with Lubbock. "This is a great opportunity for both players," said Bee's head coach Tracy Egeland. "It's an opportunity to play with and against some of the best prospects in the pro game. Matic is as skilled as anyone and I'm sure he'll do more than hold his own. Kurtis is a solid two-way defenseman, which will be key with the rule changes this season. Sean Gillam and I saw him play a number of times during a recruiting trip this past spring. Selfishly, I want them here. But I hope they impress at the AHL camps." The Killer Bees offer a variety of ticket options from party suite rentals to full and partial season tickets. Single-game ticket prices range from $11 to $23 with discounts for groups and fundraisers. Full-season ticket packages are as low as $480. Season tickets and corporate opportunities are now available by calling the Killer Bees office at (956) 843-7825. Opening weekend of the 2005-06 CHL season at the Dodge Arena is October 21-22 with a pair of games against the Lubbock Cotton Kings. The Bees will also host CHL All Star festivities January 16-18.
