Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees put together 16 hits, four extra base hits, and 12 runs in a 12-11 win over the Reno Aces Sunday afternoon. It was the first time they had scored 10+ runs since May 27 and the first time they had won back-to-back games since June 5 and 7. The Bees split the series with the Aces, giving them their first non-loss in a series since May 24-29 against Sacramento. Salt Lake improved to 34-38 and Reno dropped to 38-34 on the season.

Jo Adell went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and three RBI. Kean Wong went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI, Jose Rojas went 3-for-4 and Matt Thaiss went 2-for-4 with a home run. Kenny Rosenberg started the game and went 5.2 innings, giving up just two runs on six hits and five strikeouts.

The Bees turned three double plays, stole three bases, and only left five runners on base. Salt Lake opened the game with five runs in the first inning highlighted by a Jo Adell RBI double and a Kean Wong two-run single.

Reno got on the board for the first time in the fifth inning with a solo home run, but the Bees answered right back in the bottom of the inning when Jose Rojas stole home on a double steal.

Salt Lake extended their lead to 9-2 and seemed to be cruising in the eighth inning, until Seth Beer hit a three-run home run to make it 9-5. The Aces continued to pile on in the inning and would end up scoring seven runs to tie the game at 9-9.

Adell and Thaiss hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the eighth to put the Bees back on top 12-9.

Salt Lake will now head to Tacoma for a six-game series against the Rainiers starting on Tuesday June 28.
