New Britain, CT - The Worcester Bravehearts dropped Tuesday night's contest 3-1 to the New Britain Bees.
New Britain moves to 12-10 with the win, as does Worcester with the loss.
The 'Hearts got the scoring started in the top half of the third. After a leadoff triple by Sal Grinstead (Palm Beach State), a groundout by Kosta Drosidis (Anna Maria) would score him and give the Bravehearts a 1-0 lead.
The Bees tied the game in the fourth, thanks to a two-out RBI single by CJ Brito-Trinidad (Bowdoin), scoring Colton Shaw (Yale).
New Britain took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a two-run double by Joel Lara (Franklin Pierce) that scored both Matthew DeRosa (Quinnipiac) and Mike Torniero (Central Connecticut State).
The win went to the Bees' TJ Wainwright (Central Connecticut State). He went three innings, giving up no runs, no hits and a walk while striking out three. Bravehearts starter Jack Sefrino (Salem State) took the loss, giving up three earned runs in 6.1 innings on nine hits and a walk while striking out three. Davis Hanson (Yale) pitched two scoreless innings for New Britain to record the save.
The Bravehearts are back on the road Wednesday evening against the Westfield Starfires. First pitch is set for 6:30.
