Burlington Bees News Release

(Burlington-IA) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, parent club of the Burlington Bees, have announced their 2016 Opening Day rosters for their minor league affiliates, including the Burlington Bees.

For the third straight season, pitching will once again highlight the Bees opening night roster as Angels top ten prospects, Joe Gatto (2nd Rd 2014), Grayson Long (3rd Rd 2015) and Jaime Barria make their full season debut with the Burlington Bees. They will be joined by reliever Adam Hofacket, who will make his full season debut with the Bees as well. The right hander was a 10th round pick by the Angels in 2015 and is ranked the Angels No. 24 prospect, according to Baseball America.

Offensively, the Bees roster is highlighted by outfielder Brendon Sanger, a fourth round pick by the Angels in 2015. Sanger is rated the Angels No. 15 prospect by Baseball America and hit an even .300 for Orem in 2015. Sanger is joined by infielder Hutton Moyer, a seventh round pick in 2015. Moyer is the son of former major leaguer, Jaime Moyer. Infielder Michael Pierson will make his full season debut with the Bees, after being named a 2015 Pioneer League post-season All-Star in 2015, after batting .395 in his first pro season, leading the Pioneer League.

The Bees will see a total of three returners from the 2015 squad as reliever Eric Alonzo will be joined by infielder Juan Moreno and outfielder Alex Abbott. The Bees will have one member of the 2014 roster returning in outfielder Ranyelmy Alberto.

The Burlington Bees open the 2016 season on Thursday, April 7th at 6:30 at Community Field against the Peoria Chiefs. For tickets, visit gobees.com or stop by the Bees' office. For more information, call 319-754-5705.
