Bednarik Earns Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Bethlehem, PA - In release made today, the league office of the Professional Indoor Football League announced that Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Quarterback Adam Bednarik was selected as the Week Twelve Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the team's 67-42 victory over the Knoxville Nighthawks.

Bednarik (6'2", West Virginia University) led the team to its fourth straight victory, and just one more win shy of the teams first winning regular season record in their short history, and a win away from locking up one of the four playoff spots in the PIFL. Bednarik was once again zeroed in this past Saturday completing 75% of his passes (26 of 34) for 333 yards and eight touchdown strikes. His favorite target on the night was Torieal Gibson who found the endzone for three of those scores. On the season Bednarik has completed a staggering 71% of his passes, and thrown for 40 touchdowns. He will lead the team in their first trip to the state of Georgia as they take on the Columbus Lions for the second time this Sunday.

The Steelhawks currently sit in third place, but are just a half game behind the Richmond Raiders for second place and an opportunity to host a first round playoff game. Should things fall into place, Steelhawks front office personnel will notify all season and single game ticket holders with information for purchasing playoff tickets.
