San Rafael Pacifics News Release
San Rafael, CA - 2015 Pacific Association Pitcher of the Year Max Beatty has been signed by the Adelaide Bite to play this winter in the Australian Baseball League. Beatty, who also reached as high as AAA with the White Sox in 2017, played the final two months of the 2017 season with the Pacifics.
"He comes to us under the recommendation from Brooke Knight and is an immense competitor with a great arm," Bite manager Chris Adamson said. "He has the makeup which really suits our team."
Beatty, a former 2013 draft pick of the San Diego Padres, posted an 8-2 record with a 3.18 ERA over 90.2 innings with the Pacifics in 2015, earning him a minor league contract with the White Sox the following year. The Vancouver, WA native returned to San Rafael this past season, where he went 5-3 with a 3.53 ERA in 76.1 innings.
"I'm very happy that Max is getting this opportunity," said Pacifics manager Matt Kavanaugh. "The ABL is a great place to showcase talent, and I know Max will thrive if given the chance to take the ball every fifth day."
The ABL season begins on November 17th. You can follow Max all winter long by going to the official website of the Australian Baseball League, www.TheABL.com.au
