NEWARK, NJ, June 23, 2003 - The 2002 Atlantic League Champion Newark Bears will host Cost Night featuring the PNC Bank U.S. Flag Hot Air Balloon at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Friday, July 3rd for the 7:05 PM game against the Camden Riversharks. Following the game, there will be a Fireworks display presented by C.O.S.T. Coalition of New Jersey.

The PNC Bank U.S. Flag Balloon, developed by Barry and Teri DiLibero of Appex Sunrides of Uwchland, PA, will appear in Newark on its way to the 21st annual Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning. At the festival, North America's largest summertime family-oriented celebration of the magic of ballooning, the balloon is scheduled to soar with the Quick Chek Eagle, as well as 125 other hot air balloons in Solberg Airport in Readington, New Jersey on July 25, 26 and 27.

The balloon will fly high above Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium before the start of the game on July 3rd. It is one of the largest in the world, and measures 53 feet tall by 78 feet wide and 29 feet front to back. "The PNC Bank American Flag Balloon is our way of honoring our troops, who so bravely and proudly protect our freedom," said Howard Freeman, Executive Producer of the Festival.

Churches Organized to Stop Tabacco (C.O.S.T.) works to reduce and eliminate tobacco use and to promote health in all Church communities. It is designed to be an innovative outreach and prevention program to change the way communities and churches perceive and act upon tobacco and other prevalent health issues that stem from tobacco use.

Each organization in attendance will have their name put up on the scoreboard during the game. Groups of 30 or more will receive discounted ticket prices of $8.00 for a Box Seat and $6.00 for a Reserve Seat ticket.

"I am very excited to invite families and businesses across the state to attend this event. This is a great addition to our Independence Day celebration," said Chris Bryan, Vice President and General Manager of the Newark Bears Baseball Club.
