Newark Bears News Release

NEWARK, NJ, June 16 - The 2002 Atlantic League Champion Newark Bears have announced that they will be holding a free kids baseball clinic at Riverfront Stadium on Sunday, June 29th, from 10:30am-12pm before the Bears game against the Pennsylvania Road Warriors at 1:35pm. Kids are asked to arrive at the ballpark by 10am.

The clinic, geared for children between the ages of 6-12, will be run by all Bears players and coaches. It will involve a series of drills with Bears players designed to teach children the fundamentals of baseball. The clinic is solely instructional, and therefore there will be no infield or batting practice taken during the event.

Kids are encouraged to bring their gloves, bats, spikes, and any other personal equipment necessary.

During the clinic, water will be provided, but no food will be allowed inside the stadium. Families are welcome to bring food to eat outside after the event ends, as concession stands may not be open at that time.

Following the clinic, fans must exit the stadium. Gates will re-open for the Bears vs. Road Warriors at 12:35pm for a 1:35pm start.

To better assist the Bears in preparation for the event, we ask that you please register any child who plans to attend, by contacting Josh Eagan at jeagan@newarkbears.com or (973) 848-1000 ext.118. As well, feel free to contact him regarding any further questions you have about the event.
