Bears take game one, 4-3

NEWARK, NJ - John Pachot's solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning lifted the Bears to a 4-3 victory in the first game of a doubleheader against the York Revolution on Wednesday night at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. The home run was Pachot's second of the season.

The game started with a bang. Revolution designated hitter Matt Dryer blasted a two-run home run over the left field wall in the first inning. The Bears responded in the bottom of the first. Second baseman Bobby Hill walked to start off the inning and later scored on an RBI single by left fielder Cory Aldridge, making the score 2-1.

The Bears took the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Shortstop Ramon Castro led off the inning with a double, advanced to third on an infield single by right fielder Jose Herrera and scored on another Aldridge RBI single to tie the score. Herrera then came around to give the Bears a 3-2 lead.

Bears starter Pat Stanley (2-0) earned the win. He pitched five innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, walking three and striking out five. Wayne Franklin (1-2) suffered the loss for the Revolution. Reliever Al Levine picked up his seventh save of the season.
