
Bears' Henderson Returns to Majors Tonight

NEWARK, NJ, July 17 - Rickey Henderson resumes his major league career tonight as the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the St. Louis Cardinals beginning at 10:10 PM (EST) at Dodger Stadium. Henderson (right) and Jose Lima (left) both started the 2002 Season playing for the Newark Bears in the Atlantic League and both have now returned to the Major Leagues. Lima signed a contract with the Kansas City Royals on June 11th and Henderson agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, July 14th.
With Newark, Henderson batted .339 with 8 home runs and 33 runs-batted-in. In six starts for Kansas City, Lima has earned a record of 5-0 with an era of 2.52 and 15 strikeouts in 39.1 innings pitched.
