
Bayhawks Name Jeff Klodzen As Assistant Coach

BALTIMORE, Md. â Jeff Klodzen has been added to the coaching staff of the Baltimore Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse as an assistant coach, it has been announced by Bayhawks General Manager Jay Pivec.
Klodzen joins the coaching staff, which consists of player-coach Gary Gait, assistant coaches John Blatchley, David Huntley and Craig Campbell, and chief scout Tim Puls.
A 1990 graduate of Cortland State, Klodzen was a three-time All-America selection on defense for the Red Dragons. He was selected to play in the 1990 North-South All-Star Game, teaming up with Gait on the North squad.
Klodzen played club lacrosse for the Mount Washington Lacrosse Club from 1991 to 1997, where he won three United States Club Lacrosse Association (USCLA) titles and was a first-team All-Club selection. He was also a member of Team Toyota for three seasons from 1998 to 2000, where he earned second-team All-Club distinction.
A ten-year veteran of the National Lacrosse League, Klodzen played for the Pittsburgh Bulls, Baltimore Thunder and Syracuse Smash. During the 1997-1998 season, he was named second-team All-Pro. He was also honored as the Baltimore Thunder's "6th Man Award" recipient, which was given for outstanding athletic and community contributions.
He was selected to play in the 2000-2001 NLL All-Star Game.
Klodzen currently works as an account executive with PPS Information Systems Staffing and resides in Timonium, Maryland.
The Bayhawks open the 2004 season in Seattle, Washington on May 22, when the Bayhawks take on the Rochester Rattlers at 11:00 p.m. Baltimore opens its home schedule on May 27, hosting the Boston Cannons at Johnny Unitas Stadium ® at Towson University with game time set for 7:00 p.m.
The Baltimore Bayhawks, a charter member of Major League Lacrosse, was founded in 2000 by the following Baltimore businessmen and lacrosse enthusiasts: Dave Pivec, a former Notre Dame and Los Angeles Rams football player, and now President of Pivec Advertising and owner of Courtney's Café in Timonium Maryland; Chris Hutchins, former University of North Carolina lacrosse player and owner of Bacharach Rasin, the oldest lacrosse equipment retailer in the world; Dr. Raymond Schulmeyer, former lacrosse player at Cornell University and owner of Schulmeyer Animal Hospital in Perry Hall Maryland; and Gordon Boone, former lacrosse player at Salisbury State College and now a commercial real estate broker with Ryan Commercial.
