BayHawks Complete Weekend Sweep of Red Claws

Erie, Pennsylvania, Saturday, December 11 - The Erie BayHawks came out on top Saturday night with a 109-91 victory over the Maine Red Claws to complete the sweep of this weekend's double-dip.
Tasmin Mitchell led the attack for Erie with a double-double scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. For the second night in a row a total of six BayHawks scored in double figures as their record improved to 6-3.
The Red Claws (3-6) came out strong in the first quarter keeping the game close and held a five-point lead in to the break leading 30-25. The score stayed close through the second quarter and at the half the Red Claws led the BayHawks 62-57. Maine's DeShawn Sims had 17 points in the first half.
Erie came out fired up in the third frame to go on a 15-point run and finished the quarter leading 86-75. Maine was out scored by the BayHawks 29-13 in the period with Christian Eyenga leading the attack pitching in 9. Erie continued to pull away in the fourth to complete the two game sweep of the Claws.
Erie's Dawan Robinson put up 17, Ivan Johnson chipped in 16, Tasheed Carr added 15, Christian Eyenga had 14, and Cedric Jackson notched 10.
DeShawn Sims led Maine with 20, Paul Harris added 18, Sherron Collins had 15, Jamar Smith put away 14, and Matt Jennings had 10.
The BayHawks will travel to Iowa on Friday December 17 to take on the Iowa Energy (8-1) at 8:00pm EST.
