Erie BayHawks News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania, Monday, November 4 - The Erie BayHawks added eight players to their 2013 Training Camp Roster through Friday night's NBA Development League Draft and trades completed today. The BayHawks training camp roster is highlighted by the additions of Jeremy Tyler and C.J. Aiken.

Tyler (6-10, 260, San Diego High School), the centerpiece of the trade was acquired due to the BayHawks affiliation with the New York Knicks. The center spent time with the Knicks during this season's training camp and was acquired so he can continue to the development process using the Knicks offensive and defensive systems, which the BayHawks use.

Aiken (6-9, 200, St. Joseph's) was a defensive force at St. Joe's, earning Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year Honors in 2012. Throughout his collegiate career, the forward averaged 9.5 points, 5 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game for the Hawks. Following his junior season, he declared for the NBA Draft and after going undrafted spent time with the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Summer League.

Erie acquired Aiken, the 5th overall selection in Friday's draft, from Texas in exchange for guard Terrel Harris. The BayHawks also struck a deal with the Santa Cruz Warriors, acquiring Tyler, Santa Cruz first round pick Scott Suggs and third round selection Shane Gibson in exchange for Reginald Buckner (selected 8th overall by Erie), Ryan Evans (selected in the second round) and a future first round draft pick.

Suggs (6-6, 195, Washington) averaged 12.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game for the Huskies during his senior season. The sharpshooter was a member of the Milwaukee Bucks Summer League squad this past season. Gibson (6-2, 180, Sacred Heart) is another three-point marksman. The guard averaged 21.6 points per game while connecting on 41.7% of his attempts from behind the arc during his senior season at Sacred Heart.

In the second round Erie added an explosive guard in Darren White. White (6-4, 210, Campbell) scored 21.8 points and grabbed 7.2 rebounds per game last season at Campbell.

The BayHawks scooped up Mike Moore with their fourth round pick. Moore (6-5, 195, Hofstra) averaged 19.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during his senior season at Hofstra. He played professionally in Lithuania last season. In the fifth round, Erie chose Kevin Rogers (6-9, 250, Baylor) who has played professionally since graduating in 2010.

The team picked a familiar name to NBA fans in the sixth round with the selection of guard/forward Ricky Davis. Davis (6-7, 195, Iowa) has averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds during his 12-year NBA career with six different teams.

Erie finished their draft with forward Andrae Nelson (6-6, 230, Morehouse College) in the seventh round and Gabe Rogers (6-2, 175, Northern Arizona) in the eighth round.

The BayHawks Training Camp roster now stands at 17 players, matching the maximum allowed by the league. Erie will open camp on Thursday at the LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center.
