BayBears win 3-2 over Montgomery

MOBILE, AL - Evan Meek's wild pitch in the ninth inning allowed Cesar Nicolas to score the BayBears third run in their 3-2 win over Montgomery Saturday. The game had been tied from the fifth inning until the ninth, when the BayBears scored on three walks and the wild pitch.

The BayBears scored first, on a solo home run by Ronnie Merrill in the third inning. Montgomery tied it one half inning later, on a sacrifice fly by John Jaso. Merrill had his second RBI of the game in the fourth, on a bases loaded walk. Montgomery's Brooks Badeaux tied the game with an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning.

With the 3-2 win, the BayBears have now won two in a row, and two of the first three against Montgomery. Mark Rosen (4-1) was the winning pitcher, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings. Starter Esmerling Vasquez pitched five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits.
