BayBears routed by Lookouts

April 27, 2003 - Southern League (SL1)
Mobile BayBears News Release

Chattanooga, Ten. – Mobile BayBears starting pitcher, Chris Rojas had his second consecutive rough first inning as he walked four Lookouts hitters, one with the bases loaded, before giving up a bases-loaded double to the last batter he faced. Rojas (1-2) lasted only one-third of an inning (six batters) allowing four runs as the BayBears were pounded by Chattanooga, 12-1 Sunday afternoon.

None of the BayBears three relievers were immune to the Lookouts offensive explosion either. Duncan McAdoo (four runs allowed), Ian Harvey (two runs), and Chris Oxspring (two runs).

Lookouts starter Dustin Moseley earned the win throwing eight innings allowing just one run and three hits. Moseley had three hits himself, driving in three runs.

The BayBears lone run came in the top of the eighth. Jon Knott drove in the run, in his first at bat of the game, with a double to center field.

The BayBears (10-13) will play at Chattanooga (7-13) in game three of their series Monday night. Mobile's LHP Roger Deago (2-0; 2.11) will start against the Lookouts' RHP Bobby Basham (0-2; 2.50). Game time from Bell South Park is 6:15.
