
BayBears' Late Rally Results in a 10-7 Win

Chris Owings, Alfredo Marte and Evan Frey led the Mobile BayBears in a come-from-behind 10-7 win over the Montgomery Biscuits Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. Trailing 6-2 at the start of the seventh inning, the BayBears posted five runs, taking a 7-6 lead on two-out double from Owings that scored three runners. After the Biscuits tied the score at seven in the top half of the eighth inning, Marte put Mobile back on top with an RBI double, scoring Marc Krauss for an 8-7 BayBears lead. Three batters later, Frey added two runs with a one-out double that drove in Yazy Arbelo and Dan Kaczrowski. RHP Evan Marshall recorded the final three outs in the top of the ninth, earning his 15th save and preserving the BayBears 10-7 win.
Montgomery scored first with two runs in the second inning, when Greg Sexton drove home Tyler Bortnick and Michael Sheridan with a double off BayBears RHP Chase Anderson. Anderson pitched 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while settling for a no decision. The Biscuits added four more runs over the next three innings to take a 6-2 lead. Sexton went 2-for-5 at the plate driving in a game high four runs.
Mobile scored just two runs over the first four innings before breaking out with five runs in the seventh inning and three runs in the eighth inning. Montgomery LHP Kyle Lobstein was credited with all five runs given up in the seventh inning and exited the game after 6.1 innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits. RHP Alex Koronis suffered the loss, allowing three runs on two hits in just one inning of work.
With each team winning one of the first two games, Mobile and Montgomery continue their series Saturday, at 7:05 PM. LHP David Holmberg (0-1) will go to the hill for Mobile, while RHP Jacob Thompson (4-5) will start for Montgomery. As with all BayBears home games, one hour prior to first pitch, any fan who purchases a ticket to a BayBears home game that day, can enter the Hank Aaron Childhood Home and Museum for free!
