PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, erased an early deficit and closed out the series with a 3-2 victory over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Wednesday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

Joe Gatto (3-3) earned his third win with a quality start. He allowed one run on four hits in a six-inning start. Shed Long's RBI double in the first was the only run for Pensacola (44-44 overall, 14-6 second half) until the ninth inning.

With Mobile (48-39, 11-8) leading 3-1, the Blue Wahoos loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth. Chris Okey plated pinch-runner Narciso Crook with a one-out single to left field. However, Zach Gibbons threw out Taylor Sparks at the plate attempting to score the tying run. Matt Custred recorded a strikeout to close out the game and earn his fifth save.

Jack Kruger snapped an 0-for-17 skid with a two-run homer off Seth Varner (4-1) in the fourth inning. Kruger went 2-for-4 and scored a pair of runs.
