Sevierville, Ten. â The Mobile BayBears picked up their first win of the season Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 7-4. After a rough start by Mobile's Chris Rojas on the mound, four relievers came out of the BayBears bullpen to combine for five and one-third innings of shutout baseball.

The BayBears jumped all over Smokies starter, Jeremy Cummings, for five runs in the fifth inning. Todd Donovan pounded a two-run homerun over the wall in left to cut the lead in half. Three batters later, John Knott drove in three with his first Double-A homerun, giving Mobile the lead to stay.
The BayBears added two more runs in the eighth on an error by reliever, Rick Ankiel.
Duncan McAdoo earned the win for the BayBears working an inning and a third of scoreless relief. Closer Mike Nicolas picked up his first Double-A save by striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.
The BayBears now travel to Zebulon, North Carolina to face the new Florida Marlins Southern League affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats. Roger Deago will make his professional debut for Mobile against the Mudcats' Dontrelle Willis. Game time from Zebulon is set for 6:15.
