MOBILE, AL- The BayBears came from behind to beat the Tennessee Smokies Sunday 6-3. The win sealed a series victory for Mobile, and was the second come back win in four days for the BayBears. Down 3-0, the BayBears scored once in the fifth, twice in the seventh, and three times in the eighth to win. Leo Rosales (1-3) was the winning pitcher after throwing a scoreless eighth inning. Dale Thayer pitched a scoreless ninth for his 12th save.
Joey Gomes was 3-for-4 with three singles for the BayBears. Luis Cruz hit his seventh home run, and had two RBI's, adding to his team leading total of 38. Mobile also had two hits each from Drew Macias and Stephen Smitherman. Jose Oyervidez did not factor in the decision, pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits.
The BayBears will not play Monday, and will travel to Montgomery Tuesday. Sean Thompson (1-5) starts against the Biscuits in game one. All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 18, and on the internet via mobilebaybears.com.
