
BattleHawks Suffer First Loss

St. Louis Battlehawks News Release
(Houston, TX) - After opening the season with a victory in Dallas, the St. Louis BattleHawks fell 28-24 in Houston to the Roughnecks tonight at TDECU Stadium.
The BattleHawks trailed 21-6 at halftime, but opened the second half of play with a pair of touchdown drives to narrow the gap. Quarterback Jordan Ta'amu completed 30/37 passes for 284 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. L'Damian Washington, De'Mornay Pierson-El, and Matt Jones each caught a touchdown as St. Louis racked up 390 yards of offense on 83 plays.
Pierson-El's nine catches were the second most in a single XFL game this season behind only LA's Nelson Spruce (11) in Week One. The BattleHawks defense allowed their first touchdown of the season, after playing 71:46 without allowing the opponent into the endzone.
