Battle for First Place in the Western Conference

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Wranglers return to Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center, to battle the Arizona Rattlers for first place positioning in the Indoor Football League's Western Conference.

On Saturday evening, the Wranglers and Rattlers will meet for the first time this season. This is the biggest game of the season for the Wranglers to this point. Both teams enter this heavyweight showdown with 9-2 records in 2022. The winner of the contest will claim a spot in the IFL playoffs, and current sole possession of first place in the Western Conference.

The Rattlers enter the battle coming off back-to-back wins against the Bay Area Panthers. Their most recent win, last week, was an absolute smashing of the Panthers, by a score of 83-21. The Wranglers have been on fire, winning six consecutive games leading into this huge clash with the Rattlers.

The Wranglers have the top ranked scoring defense in the IFL, while the Rattlers have the top scoring offense. The Wranglers defense has allowed the least yards in the league to opposing offenses. In contrast, the Rattlers offense has put up the most yards in the league on their opponents. The season, thus far, has built up to this faceoff, and the game's importance in the playoff race cannot be understated.

The Wranglers defense will face their biggest challenge of the season this week with the Rattlers. The same could be said for the Wranglers offense, as they rank fifth in the IFL in scoring, and the Rattlers defense ranks third in scoring. The Wranglers will need an outstanding performance in all phases of the game to pull off the victory. The IFL's second leading passer, quarterback Kaleb Barker, looks to have the offense firing, and ready to score. The defense will be fired up, and will rise to their biggest challenge of the season.
