Saint John Riptide News Release
(Saint John, NB): Two heavyweights will slug it out today with the winner claiming 1st place in the Atlantic Division, and possibly the overall in the league.
The 14-5 Halifax Hurricanes travel to the Port City to take on the 13-6 Saint John Mill Rats at 4PM Atlantic Time at Harbour Station.
The Hurricanes have had a vice grip on 1st place all season in the Atlantic, but 4 of their 5 losses have come at the hands of Saint John. The Mill Rats are on a roll of late, winning 7 of their last 8 games.
Making their debut appearances today are former New York Knicks guard Chris Smith, brother of Cleveland Cavaliers star J.R. Smith, and 6'4 swingman Mike Anderson of Grandbay-Westfield. Anderson has played in the past for the Mill Rats, but today is filling in for the injured Jabs Newby.
All minor basketball players are invited to attend Sunday's Mill Rats home game for just $5 with the special voucher above. The voucher is also valid for their coaches and parents to get in for just $10.
