Battle Creek remains unbeaten

Battle Creek, MI- Allen White hit a three pointer with 22 seconds to go in regulation, and Battle Creek held off a tough Quebec Kebs squad as the Knights remain unbeaten on the season with a 104-101 victory over the Kebs.

Quebec was not intimidated by the Knights 7-0 record as they jumped out to a 12 point lead after one shooting 62 percent from the field in the opening frame. The Kebs were lead by a 7-1 run midway through the period on a three by Michael Anderson and a pair of jumpers by Charles Fortier.

In the second, Battle Creek would show why they are the only unbeaten team in the league as they came back to tie the game after two. While Quebec was able to hold Kenny Langhorne to only nine after two; it was Chris Gaines who lead the way for the Knights with a dozen at the break.

Both teams shot well from three point range with the Knights shooting 44.4% and the Kebs shooting 43.8% on 7 of 16. Dominique Soucy lead the Kebs with 12 at the break while Michael Anderson had ten.

In the third, Quebec would fight back taking a four point lead going into the fourth, but Battle Creek would not go away. Rashii Johnson would hit back to back three pointers with a minute and a half to go to close the lead to three. Frank Phillips would hit a short jumper with 50 seconds to go, then Johnson would keep the Knights unbeaten, capping off a 17-2; 2:38 second run as the Knights would win by two.

Notes: Kenny Langhorne lead six Knights in double figures with 20. For Quebec, who drops to 2-6, Michael Anderson and Larry House lead the Kebs with 20 each. It was announced by the PBL today that the Montreal Sasquatch have been suspended from play by the league for failure to meet league obligations. No replacement for Montreal has been named.
